Vicky Pattison has revealed she was ‘depressed, anxious and self-critical’ before her wedding.

The former Geordie Shore star, 36, and her business partner Ercan Ramadan, 30, will say ‘I do’ at Marylebone Town Hall today, with around 150 friends and family expected to be present.

However, that’s not the only time the happy couple will be heading to Puglia for a second wedding ceremony that will feature the upcoming Channel 4 series Vicky Pattison: Destination Wedding.

But a day before the event, Vicky shared a health update about how premenstrual dysphoric syndrome is affecting her recently.

Posting a series of photos of herself, some of which showed her angry and crying, Vicky said she was struggling with her emotions.

‘This won’t make sense to a lot of people, it might sound weird to some, and if this doesn’t agree with you at all, that’s fine… you can keep scrolling. Because this post is not for everyone,’ he began.

1 in 20 women have PMDD. However, the true number is believed to be much higher due to women being misrepresented, neglected and thought to be confused. So if you are one of the others after 20 years, or if in a week to 10 days of the month, that luteal phase before your period, you do not know yourself – then this post is for you.

Believe me, the week before my wedding I didn’t want to be this person… you think you’re happy, you’re happy, you’ve got little birds on your dress… full of female anger , hopelessness and fatigue. That’s what PMDD does.’

Vicky went on to explain that PMDD was “like building up an environment of good habits, positive emotions, and a loving personality and then watching it all go away to let go of depression, anger, hopes and worries behind it”.

She also said it was ‘upsetting’ that her periods ‘always’ seemed to drop when she went on holiday and left her feeling like an ‘anxious, suicidal woman’ -na and ‘bright, shining and bright’.

Speaking about messages she has received from fans struggling with the same condition, Vicky says she has been told how good times they have been “stolen” by their symptoms.

She ended the post by writing: ‘I wish there was a really happy ending to this post, which I would end by saying “but I got this pill and now I feel happy” but when there is , instead, I will say to anyone who is suffering – I see you, I understand and I’m sorry.’

When thinking about her upcoming wedding, Vicky said she was ‘insisting’ her thoughts and hormones would not ‘take her away from this moment’.

I might be a little less of a bride than I intended.. think Cinderella and more Ursula the sea witch.. but what? ‘

Vicky then advised others living with PMDD to share their problems with family and friends who can offer ‘love and support’.

A day before she shared this post, on Thursday Vicky revealed that she was in marital trouble at the time.

As the hours ticked down, Vicky took fans through her wedding preparations on Thursday, but revealed that she is having some marital problems.

Next to a close-up selfie of her face, the reality TV star wrote on her Instagram feed: ‘Meteo s**t, my psoriasis is playing and I’m still e-s’ you got my time so everyone is driving me crazy.’

Vicky was talking about autumn temperatures in London on Thursday and, according to the BBC, the weather on Saturday will be a mix of thundery showers, sun and wind.

However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom as Vicky later indulged in some fun, getting her eyebrows and eyelashes done before visiting Ercan.

What is PMDD?

A small number of women may experience more severe PMS symptoms known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The symptoms of PMDD are similar to PMS, but they are more severe and can have a very negative impact on your daily life.

Symptoms can include headaches and joint and muscle pain, overeating and sleeping problems, feeling very anxious, angry, depressed or suicidal.

It’s not clear what causes PMDD, but it has been linked to a preoccupation with hormonal changes, or certain genetic variations that you inherit from your parents.

Vicky and Ercan, who got engaged in 2022, will follow in the footsteps of Noel Gallagher and Sir Paul McCartney who are among the stars who have married at the Marylebone Town Hall over the years.

The pair began dating in 2019 after being introduced by a friend and Ercan proposed three years later with a stunning £200,000 ring, which had recently been stolen.

In July, it was reported that Vicky was seen ‘in tears’ at a train station after a ring was stolen from her bag in Newcastle. A source told The Sun at the time: “Vicky is devastated. She was inconsolable – crying her eyes out and devastated about the whole thing.

‘Her engagement ring obviously means the world to her and losing it weeks before the wedding makes it an even harder pill to swallow.’

The theft was reported to the police but it is not known if Vicky was able to get the ring back.

Vicky once told how she got ‘so mad’ when planning wedding invitations and realized she had to scale back after having a big engagement party.

She told The Sun: “I think, Oh, if weddings are like making horrible decisions and difficult decisions all the time, I don’t know how I want to do them.”
